怎么在美国当医生？在美国有一种项目能让你绕过激烈的医学院申请，甚至免去高难度的医学院入学考试（MCAT），轻轻松松地从本科一路读到博士，顺利拿到医学博士的学位，获得从医的资格。

这就是传说中的「BS/MD医学院直博项目」。

BS/MD项目会比常规的本科申请更激烈。

以布朗的医学通识教育项目（PLME）项目为例，布朗的本科录取率已经够低了，5.2%左右，而PLME的录取率仅为1.8%。

很多高中生挤破了都想申进这样的项目。

The Program in Liberal Medical Education prepares University students - from first-year undergraduates to

fourth-year medical school students - over eight years for a career in medicine and offers academic support

throughout the process.

Admitted PLME students are guaranteed admission to the Warren Alpert Medical School following completion

of their undergraduate education at Brown. Admission is highly selective: 74 out of over 4100 PLME applicants

for the undergraduate class of 2027 were accepted, The Herald previously reported. Students' experience of the

program's social elements evolves over time, according to four current undergraduate PLME students who

spoke to The Herald about their lives as college students - socially and academically - both in and out of the

program.

批评者认为，BS/MD项目让家里本就拥有医学资源的学生免于激烈的医学院申请（全美平均录取率低至5.5%），直接顺利进入医学院学习。迫于社会舆论的压力，过去5年中，以下这些医学院直博项目相继关闭：

西北大学：医学教育荣誉项目（HPME）

圣路易斯华盛顿大学：医学学者计划（USPM）

莱斯大学/贝勒大学：医学学者项目

波士顿大学：七年制文科/医学教育（SMED）

美国顶尖大学剩下的BS/MD医学院直博项目所剩无几了。预计在未来，这样的项目会越来越少。
